MG Car Club of Finland- Brief history and presentation of your club:
Year 1995 and 12 MG enthusiasts met in the cabinet of the Tower Hotel in Helsinki to discuss the possible creation of MG Car Club Finland. They all agreed and the club was formalised immediately. The following year the number of members grew to 114 and the club issued three B&W pamphlets to its members. The first event was in 1996 at the Nokian Tires slalom test track but was not as popular as had been hoped, and it was decided that we would go in future to a quieter place. So in 1997 a picnic was organised in the grounds of the Haikko manorhouse and this is still being held annually, being one of the most successful events of the club. The second major event was later planned - a trip to Estonia should be made though only three cars attended the initial 2004 event; however this has become a very successful annual event up to the present day and current attendance is 12-15 MGs. In 2006 the club established Brittisportti - the club magazine which is now A5 size with 24 colourful pages. Our club doesn’t have a clubhouse; however we try to meet once a month in a classic car cafe mainly to discuss what kind of events to arrange.
In summary, the main events for the MG Car Club of Finland are the Haikko Picnic which opens the season, followed by a trip to Estonia where we normally visit the historic manor houses/hotels, there is a weekend trip to Finland’s lake district, and various one-day drives, followed by the End-of-season overnight in September.

- M.G. CAR CLUB HOLLAND
History:
It is September 3th 1955: A small group of friends get together in a restaurant in Zandvoort. This group of friends knew each other from their mutual hobby, racing on the Zandvoort Circuit with their MG’s. The friendship is so strong that they decided to found their own association. To set up a MG Car Club, permission was needed from the British MG Car Club who owned the rights to this name. The UK MG Car Club set requirements for the use of the name of the club. The Dutch Club received permission to found a club similar to the UK Club and, as all other MG Car Clubs outside the UK, they were registered as Dutch “Centre”. The MG Car Club Holland was one of the first Centers on the continent. Only the Swiss MG Car Club was founded a few years before 1955. In 1956 the MGCC Holland had 47 members, today (2021) the MG Car Club Holland has about 2.625 members.
Foundation:
September 3th 1955 at Haarlem (The Netherlands)
MG Car Club Holland Board:
President: Wim Nieuwenhuijzen
Treasurer: Gerard Steverink
Secretary: Vacancy
Event Commissioner: Gert-Jan Polman
PR Commissioner: Rolf Smit
Registers
In the Netherlands the Registers are independent units from the Dutch clubs. The three Dutch clubs (MGCCH, MG-TTO, MG-ATO) are supporting together the registers. In total 13 registers are covered. (Prewar models by MG-TTO and MGA + Magnette by MG-ATO, rest by MGCCH)
At this moment the registers are transformed from “paper” into “digital” registers. Clubs are supporting the digitalization and are offering support in linking the registers to the clubs’ websites.
At this moment no register has been set up for the ZS-EV and EHS.
MG-Magazine
Every month a 44 pages full color magazine (MG-Nieuws) is published. This magazine is exclusively available for members of the MGCCH. The magazine is also available for reading on the website, in the “member’s only “area. In this part of the website all “MG-Nieuws” magazines are available from 1956. The magazine is very much appreciated by the members and covers a variety of articles and information. There are regular technical articles, mostly from members. Also the new electric vehicles are getting more and more attention. Every region has its own page and often pictures and reports of events are included. Recently a series of articles about VIPS in MG’s and MG in miniature was introduced. The editorial team consists of 5 people.
Events organized by the MGCCH:
In the MGCCH two types of events are organized: national events, organized by the club and regional events organized by the ten regions. - MG information and spares day: This is THE New Year reception of the MGCCH, MG-TTO and MG-ATO. This event is a yearly MG fair, held at the Expo Center in Houten, organized by the MGCCH on the first or second Sunday in January. Every year also the two German clubs, MGCCBe, MG Antwerp and MGF-BE are presenting themselves to the MG community on this fair. Next to the social character of this fair, members of the clubs can sell their “left-overs” from restorations and other (noncommercial) materials. A selection of approx. 75 Dutch retailers in MG linked parts and services, 20 lifestyle product retailers, 10 UK retailers of (used) spares and services are present.
